2CA9 Lambda probe heating behind catalytic converter 2, function
hello, i put this thread in another section but got new responses and i dont want to drive the car if it will damage it so i want a fast answer to the question. i started my car the other day and got a service engine soon light. i restarted the car and the warning went away. i scanned the car with the BT scan tool and got this code. i researched it and it seems to be people who change there dp's mess up on the install and get this code. i havent touched the dp's or done anything to the car so does anyone know whats causing this? thanks

Im not an expert, but maybe the oxygen sensors post-cat are going? Since you have almost 50k mi thats not unreasonable. If so this will not hurt your car. Secondary o2 sensors only read catalytic efficiency and are not involved in adjusting AFRs like the primary ones are. If you're not getting any fuel mixture codes then you're okay.
Do you have stock downpipes? Are you running a tune? If you're tuned I would definitely data log and make sure alls well.

O2 sensor, bank 2, the one behind the catalytic converter, just as your BT tool said.
Got mine swapped out 2 yrs ago. Love the BT tool ![]() There are 4 O2 sensors total (2 pre, 2 post catalytic converter). My mechanic didn't know which one was bank 1 or 2, so I had both swapped out, which fixed the problem. Labor's expensive in NorCal, and I didn't have time to consult my Bentley manual (since this was my only car at the time).
