debadged after a year?
probably a stupid question but tomorrow I'm going to debadge my sisters 328 but its been on there for a year now so i was kind of worried that it would leave a shadow of the 328 i did mine after 6 months and came out great but I wasn't sure about a year......any thoughts?

It kinda depends on the situation. Is the car garaged? Does it spend a lot of time parked in the sun (i.e. at school/work, etc). Personally i think 1 year seems a bit too long. Hell even 6 months seems a bit too long for me. But then again if i were to debadge, i would do it right when i picked up the car.

hmmmmm a year seems really long. just do like u said and take off one letter first. i would keep it off for a while so u can see the paint in all different light. if it is ok.......take them all off. if its bad........just get some good glue and put it back on

I debadged my car about 9-10 months after. At first it looked like it left a mark, but it looked fine after washing the car.

depends on teh color of the car. white or black should be OK. Red would have oxidized (faded) enuff that the lettering would be visible.

thanks guys I'm going to head over to her house tonight and do it for her......and its not that were ashamed of the having a 328 its looks way better without it, and i can back that up because even 335 owners do it for the clean look.

just do it. but as said, really depends on where the car is parked and so fourth.
when i had my jet black e34, i debadged it when it was 5+ years old. left a shadow. polished it a few times and followed up with wax. was hardly visible at that point.

As shragon says, the best time to de-badge is right before you polish and wax the car. If you've taken good care of the paint (no matter what the color), you should be able to de-badge without leaving evidence.

it might leave a mark, but just use some WD40 softly to get any access glue, cuz it might not pop out perfectly and so clean as opposed to debadging once you get the car. Wax that area as well and you'll be fine!
