SCCA Class. Modded 335 DSP?
What classes is everyone running in?
I just want to double check what classes people are running in with modifications. I currently run in DSP but to be honest compared to the other DSP cars mine is much faster so I wanted to be sure I was running in the right class. I have an E92 335 with: LSD KW V2 19" aftermarket wheels M3 Subframe bushings, Sways and control arms JB4 w/ other support mods (I put it on map 1 since most of the power is unusable) Stock the car is D-Stock so with these modifications I was pretty sure it's now a DSP. Just wanted to be sure I was classed right. I'm only in it for the fun but don't want others to complain and be right. |

I am 99.9% sure the 335 is in BSP... you might be in SM with that control arm swap, tho.

Interesting, that would put me with a more comparative group. How do you know for sure?
The reason we (even the SCCA guys) thought it was a DSP was as follows: DSP Equipment Allowances: All of the rules and allowances of stock and street touring classes apply, with the following additions: • Engine / Drivetrain ◦ Boost levels may be modified (stock turbo) ◦ A/C Delete ◦ Cat Delete ◦ Differentials may be modified • Wheels / Tires: ◦ Any wheel or DOT-legal tire ◦ Fenders may be cut or bent for tire clearance • Brakes ◦ Any brake caliper may be used Suspension ◦ Any shock, spring or sway bar may be used ◦ Any suspension bushing may be replaced ◦ Strut bars may be added or modified, but may only connect in two points ◦ Camber plates and camber bolts are allowed • Other: ◦ Update/backdate parts from different years ◦ Subframe bushings are allowed ◦ All seats may be replaced with any seat ◦ Aftermarket splitters and "spoilers" (no non-factory "wings") edit: Found a few posts also saying BSP: Quote:

My region is pretty small and the other carsin dsp are a e36 and a vw golf. Not much in bsp or asp either but I want to be classed right. Most of the time I run in a special unlimited class that's just consists of cars from my local forum I'm gonna pull an Armstrong and keep my trophy from the last event anyway |

As long as the gear ratio aren't changed.

We run ITX with the Bimmerworks e92 335. To your point, the 335 is typically faster than most anything on the track, minus a REALLY well prepped e46 M3 (meaning close to grand-am spec car).
IMHO, you should definitely upgrade your suspension. I don't think V2s are rebuildable and you'd be even quicker with a double-adjustable like JRZ or AST.

At this point, he'd benefit more with proper sized tires/wheels than upgrading suspension.

I'm only planning on doing one or two hpde's. i think v3s may be overkill for my skill level. I don't even have time to adjust anything at autox. I'm open to them but only after much more seat time.
in the meantime I'm planning on using my stock wheels for the autox tire setup. |

I ran my 335i in the Atlanta region STU. It's pretty brutal for a 335i. I now run an extensively tuned e36 m3 and i cant say its much better.
