It's a wrap! E91 gets it.
Finally got my act together to do the promised bits to the Touring
This is the first art of the story: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=E91 The wheels (courtesy of Chris at CM Wheels) were fitted on Wednesday. Today, I took a (wet and miserable) trip cross country to PWPro in Mansfield, Notts. to have the roof etc. done No apologies for the lack of a clean car - that's what 100 miles of wet & dirty roads do to a car!! I took some pics of the wrapping - I'll post those up tomorrow, along with some comments. At the moment, I'm very pleased with the job, and Paul at PWPro is a perfectionist, and his (and his staff's) workmanship are of the highest order. I wasn't bothered about him dismantling my car, and that is something I rarely say about anybody. Mike |

Mirrors: No, leaving them as-is. Decided that they could be too much black - and they have black trims on anyway. Yes, very pleased Mark. As he was doing the job, Paul commented on where short cuts can be made in wrapping, plus insights on how to do the job properly - like where to warm up the vinyl to get it to curve over a crease so the stress is on the larger piece, rather than on a small edge, and therefore less prone to lifting. The Crossfire (looks like a dog taking a dump - Clarkson) was another botched job for Paul to repair. The bonnet wrap had been stretched so much that it had split, and then repaired with black insulating tape!

Do you have to declare this as a colour change? I believe you don't right? |

Hi I had a question OP. I have an E91 in the states. I just completed a full E91 M OEM conversion and wanted to change my headrails also. I had searched realoem.com and thought I had found the right part # for the low profile headrails that you currently have on your car. Is there any way you can help confirm the part # for them?
When my shop placed the order to BMW, they sent us headrail delete instead of low profile rails. p.s. I am very jealous you have a 335D

When I bought the car, I had already decided to go down this route, so when I applied for the insurance, I told them that it was going to happen before Christmas. Mike |

The part number for the pre 3/2010 rails is 51137118503 & 4 If you look up the right hand drive post 3/2010, the rails are marked as the number 2 and part number 51137255485 & 6 Cheers Mike |

Early start - 6am on the road to get to PWPro for 8am
First off, coffee, then: Headlining off and roof rails removed. Shark fin cut off. Adhesive removed with a wheel. Cleaned and clay bar'd ready for the vinyl Wrap laid on the roof and taped down Rear down, front half backing paper being removed Getting it smooth, with some warmth A little more heat Shark fin getting the treatment Rails on - time for the spoiler. Paul didn't like this one - ended up throwing it away and starting again as he said there were bits underneath it. I couldn't see them! Probably the fiddliest bit - the diffuser panel Finishing touches - making sure the vinyl has been "cooked" properly at the correct temperature. |

Looks very nice Mike. +1 for Paul's workmanship, I've been to his place and seen his work, it's top class. He was doing a full Matt black wrap on an E90 last time I was there. He'll be doing my detail and a couple of other bits when I get the new front bumper

It looks terrific Mike, I bet it looks even more stunning in the flesh.
BTW, did you happen to see how easy/difficult it was to remove the headlining? I'm contemplating changing the roof-bars on my car over to the newer type. Steve.
