Nitto NT 555

Anyone have experience with this tire? Grip and noise are important issues to me.

Noise is fine. Dry grip is pretty good. Wet grip on the other hand... scary. With rain coming down pretty hard, I felt like I was hydroplaning on the freeway. Not the best feeling. If I lived somewhere where it rained fairly often, I would definitely choose a different tire. Actually, after two sets, I probably won't buy them again. There are better tires in the price range.

If you're going for that price point, then also look at the Falken FK-452; otherwise, go for the gold...the Mich. PS2s, imho.

Nittos are horrible in my opinion. They are super loud. For that price go with toyo T1R.

I was going for the Falken FK 452, however the place where I ordered them were out of stock on the 265/30/19's and I couldn't wait the 3 weeks for them to restock, so I went with the Nitto's.

For the price? I didn't think the Toyo T1R and the Nittos were in the same price range.

Did you try DiscountTireDirect.com? If they have them in stock, they'll get them to you in ~ 3 days with free shipping...at a lower price than TireRack.com. That's where I got my Mich. PS2s and when I was shopping, they also had plenty of Falken FK-452s in stock as well.

I used to have them and I didn't like them. Not on my BMW, but I had them on my previous car and I can't say I'd buy Nitto tires again.

Discount Tire Direct IS who I was buying the tires from. The were completely out of stock of Falken FK-452's in 265/30/19's. They did have the 235/35/19's for the front, but completely out of the rears. They mentioned it would be another 3 weeks before they'd be restocked in that make/model/size, so they suggested the Nitto 555's as an alternative, as I couldn't wait.
