Is there any way to varify the mileage of a potential buy ?
Hi,
Looking for a used Toyota Landcruiser Amazon 4.7 petrol around 10+ year old with over 100k miles, which to be fair is nothing for such a reliable car if its been kept in good health. But is there any way to know if the stated mileage is accurate ? reason being that there are cars with 80k miles and there are cars 120k miles for the same money. Please advice. |

No real 100% garuntee mate, as someone could clock a car regularly and make it all tie in.
My own advice would be buy on condition at the time and available service history. Good thing with BMW is they log all their servicing so verifying a BMW's service history is much easier. With Toy-yoda's I am not sure.

Check out the MOT history, you need the reg and the latest MOT serial number. At least it will give you an indication of mileage accuracy and it will also have all the advisories.

please use the AA comprehensive HPI check mate, it'll tell you if anything's wrong
http://www.theaa.com/car-data-checks/index.html it'll do a search on VIN No, V5 Registration Document serial number and V5 Registration Document issue date, you'll need to get these off the seller...

I don't know about Toyota but some car if for sale only with one key than is possible incorrect milage. Because some car when you turning back milage you program it on a key. That's way they selling car with one key. If you gona insert spare key it will turn back mileage.

I'd buy privately from a seller you get a good feeling from. Landcruisers don't strike me as common clocking vehicle.
Why the petrol? You can't beat the 4.2 tdi for reliability... I saw one in Oz with 700,000 kilometres and going strong!
