Replacing a lost/missing key fob in SoCal??

All,

Anyone know a dealership in SoCal that will replace a missing key with the programming for a reasonable price? I took over a lease and the guy said he was going to mail me the 2nd key, but now he is saying it is lost.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Any dealership will do. But it'll be pretty pricey. Try New century bmw, ask for Sydney in service

Sorry to dig this thread up but I just got 325ixT and it has only one key and the remote is not working. Can I buy a used key and ask locksmith to reprogram it instead of pay dealer for new key? I think it is ranging from $300 to $600

Since the guy promised you the key and claims he lost it, have him replace it. I was in a similar situation. I had someone takeover my lease and the second for whatever reason didn't work. This was after we did the transaction. I promised him a car with 2 working keys, and I paid to replace the second key. It's only fair IMO.

BMW manufactures all vehicles with 4 sets of keys! Two go with the car. All you need is your vin number and they will overnight you one.

are you saying bmw holds onto 2 keys to your vehicle and can be requested to be shipped to your house free of charge?

They would have one freaking large inventory of keys if they did that...

You forgot to mention that BMW charges after the first set of keys (come included with a new purchase).

Yeah, this key fob is situation is frustrating.. I am going to get a pre-inspection done with the dealer and send the findings back to the original owner to see if I can recover some of his negligence.
