FMIC + ER Charge?
So the first thing I purchased before anything else was an ER Charge Pipe for the car. I wanted to hedge against the horror stories, and since I've recommended to other N55 drivers that the ER charge pipe should be their first investment.
Now with the release of the Cobb AP, and the Stage 1+ right around the corner, I am wanting to go ahead and invest in an upgraded FMIC. I'd like to avoid cutting if at all possible, and I read in other threads that the Helix requires no cutting. What I need to make sure of is whether the ER Charge Pipe and the Helix FMIC will be a good fit and will mean that I won't have to do any cutting? If not, or if there is a higher recommended FMIC, I'm open to suggestions. I've done some searching here and on Bimmerforums, but haven't found any info to my specific question, and not much in the way of recommendations for a FMIC.

I have the ER Chargepipe + Active Autowerke Sport Intercooler and fitment is fine. Since I'm parting out, my IC is for sale and is very similar to Helix and ETS

How much is your FMIC going for? Was there any cutting on your E90? I haven't ready many reviews on the Active Autowerke Sport Intercooler

Are there any advantages to one over the others?

The Helix Stepped Core FMIC fits with the ER chargepipe. We have supplied a longer supplemental piece of silicone for later cars running that setup, not knowing the length that ER supplies. I'm pretty sure it's not necessary, but we do it anyway free of charge.

What do you mean by so good? It's a pipe like all the other ones are. It does have the stock O-ring/C-clip connection to the TB, and a mounting bracket which might appeal to some.

I agree, a pipe is a pipe. As long as it fits there is no reason to spend alot. Some people just prefer the OE connection to the TB, because alot of the silicone/tbolt setups can slip off easily. Stett's connection is pretty good.
