Most sophisticated exhaust?
Hey fellow enthusiasts.
I am getting the mod bug again. I have a 09' 335i sedan. I just wanna make my stock exahust sound a bit more agressive. I already have the Ultimate Racing downpipe with high flow cat. So heres the challenge: I am in particularly looking for a cat back exahust that preferably has an "X" pipe, resonators, and two independent mufflers. I like the tips to look similar to the rennart tips. I want minimal to no drone, and something that sounds similar to a vr6 or R32 note (IF possible). Nothing to loud to be obnoxious, but loud enough to sound exotic and sexy. Any suggestions? THANKS! |

HAHA!!
the MK4 R32 was absolutley BEAUTIFUL!! I ended up buying the MK5 R32 because of how much I loved the sound on the Mk4, and it was a complete nightmare. The MK5 rattles when its cold and sounded very different. I ended up selling that car within 8 months! lol Then bought a 05 S4 and put exhaust, which sounded soooooo amazing! V8 grunt was great. It was fun, but not fast enough... Now I have the 335i. Good news is that its a straight 6, which can sound nice in its own way... Perhaps similar to a MK4 Supra. What is the absolute Most sophisticated cat back out there?

My buddies who also have 335's loved it so much they sold their exhausts and also bought Dinan and removed the secondary cats. |

AE still drones badly on 6ATs. Been there, done that. Stock exhaust for me, no matter how many ponies it's costing me.

The F30 335i exhaust, made by Challenge going by the video on their website, sounds superb.
No idea about gains nor if there's any drone but based on sound alone it's a shame they don't make the same for e9x n55 / n54....... |

Can't sound like an R32 without having an R32 engine....
![]() Stay stock if you want no drone or consider just getting downpipes for a slightly aggressive exhaust note at Wide Open Throttle. |
