E91 with CD changer bracket
Does anyone with an E91 have the CD Changer bracket fitted?
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...=65&fg=10&hl=6 I'm looking to see how much I can fit in that area, e.g. MS-8 and amp but I can't understand how that bracket fits. Logically (for access) the CD changer would normally go above the level of the floor but, if so, it doesn't look as if the area would be deep enough for that. I've looked everywhere and haven't found a single picture. |

Most put that elsewhere .
I would put the amp in the stock location most of the ones commonly
used here fit and the ms-8 under the trunk floor near the TCU. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=324214 http://www.bilstereoforum.se/showthread.php?t=2356 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...3&d=1329017429 these might help or be informative. |

OK then, seeing as it's gone very quiet, does anyone know if an XD600/6 would fit where the XD600/1 is shown below? The /6 is 40mm wider than the /1 (front to back in the car if you see what I mean). I am assuming that the space is the same size in an E91 as in that E92 335i

Measure it for peace of mind.
Measure it for peace of mind.
We have hardly any E91's in the US but I here they are popular in Europe so I would be looking for your Bro's in Britain to give you and answer . I get the feeling that that subfloor area is the same size if not bigger in a E91 . Again if I was doing a ms-8 and a amp the amp would go where the stock hi fi amp goes and the ms-8 under the trunk floor, where in the place that last picture has the aftermarket amp in. Sound advice
![]() The thing is, the amp will be in stage 2 of the upgrade (just MS-8 to start with), so I'll have to go from the dimensions on the JL website. I was just planning ahead for the wiring route. Thanks. |

e91
I've got a 2006 e91 with HiFi and the following equipment: XD600/6, MS8, DLS R4s in front doors, DLS 424 coaxial center (with the other in the pair to posted for sale soon), kicker ssmb8 under seats, and a 12" directed studio sub in the trunk. I've got the xd600/6 in the original amp location, and the MS8 right next to it about 10" away in the sub-floor location. I took out the carpet shell to the subfloor cargo area and Velcro'd the MS8 in the shallow half on the driver side of the car, nearest the factory amp location.
Currently I just have it put together in a working fashion with wires not organized and routed properly, so the floor cover board does not rest flush as the RCA cables make it stick up, but if I can organize it correctly, I plan to mount the XD600/6 next to where the Bluetooth and sat tuners would be as shown in links above, and then put the MS8 in the factory amp location. That way I can regain my storage space. I can provide pictures if it would help, but again, it is not flush nor a final install. |

I'm not sure if this helps but I did test fit the JL 600/6 in that area next to the TCU on an E90. I found it fit perfectly, but was concerned about the floor over the amp. It seemed too close for me and I was concerned about overheating.
I just stuck it where the stock amp was. Again its an E90 for what its worth. |

Overheating
Overheating is the reason I would put the ms-8 next to the TCU and the amp in the stock position. The device that requires more cooling should go in the more ventilated area.
