Wheel and Tire dilemma...
So, I've just recently acquired an '06 e90 330i with sport package meaning it has the stock 162 style wheels, with the Bridgestone Potenza runflats. The only thing is that I want to switch to a 19" rim requiring me to get new tires as well, and on a budget no less. So I'm thinking of selling the wheels which are in good condition on eBay to try to get the most cash out of them ($250-270/wheel), and then selling the tires which probably have 50% treadlife here on the forum for idk, $300 for all 4, hopefully putting me at about $1300-1400 in the pocket. Then I'd end up going with some 19" VMR V701's and Michelin PSS all around coming in at around $2300 including tax, meaning my net expense would be about $900-950, which fits in my budget. Any thoughts on getting the most money as possible out of the OEM's without ripping somebody off?

1200-1300 for OEM 162 wheels out of a 2006 e90 and RFT tires with 50% tread, I would say you are being optimistic if you are expecting anything more than 600-800 (all wheels + tires), provided the wheels are in great shape.
To put it into perspective, I recently got 19" e46 OEM M3 staggered set of rims (in excellent shape) with Continental ContiSportContact (85% tread left) for 650 bucks. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but did not want you to plan anything spectacular for your new setup, only to find out that you will be way short in cash. Perhaps, you could sell these, and get a decent set of used 19s as an upgrade. Here is a similar sale: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=899176 |

Op,
Im on the same boat with you, ehat color wheels you looking at? I want gunmetal or matte black, but i may end up with 18" because my tires are pretty new. If i am not satisfied, i will sell the new 18" when i needed new tires to completely upgrade to 19". Also, you might be able to get more money for your rims if you advertise local
