So i put my songs into my USB drive not in any folders. And i click on random button, this is a 2008 without idrive. So the songs do play in random, but it plays in a specific random order, and it always repeat that order. So it doesnt go through all the songs.

So if it plays song A, B,D,C,F,E, then you go into dir and select any random songs and some how it will end up in the same order ABDCFE.

So the random is not really random, its just in a specific random order which repeats itself after a couple rounds? ANy help. I dont know if this makes any sense. let me know.

You're right. It happens that way. I find the only way to make it more random is to add or remove songs. Then it plays in the same 'random' order again. It is frustrating. I remember on an old pontiac, it really was random. The BMW computer is the same order. It's frustrating. I have the iDrive and it is the same thing as yours.
