DSC Malfunction HELP!

What's up e90 posters?

I feel ashamed to say, i've hurt my baby. I was driving my e92 the other day, dropping off a friend. I decided to take a shortcut through the alley, long story short. Accelleration and a pothole later my DSC malfucntion errors came up. My steering got really loose and my wheel alignment was shot.

Now comes my question, what should I do? I called my dealership anonymously and explained the situation and they said to bring it in (duh) and if it's within warranty specs. they will replace the part free. After all, the car should be able to take a pothole. (Thanks LADOT) But if it isn't covered in warranty I owe Santa Monica BMW $130 inspection fees, then the fee to get it fixed. So I come to you guys, scared out of my mind. What do you think will happen? What should I do? Any replies are appreciated. Oh and feel free to bag on my driving. It's a lesson learned, but thankfully I have no body damage. Below are pictures of the error messages.

Thanks!

and below this is the continuation of the error message.

sorry about the crappy pictures, I couldn't find my camera.

I guess I am confused. Just take it to the dealer. You owe them money?? Pay it, then get the DSC fixed.

No, I don't owe the dealership money, I was saying that if the DSC error isn't covered under warranty, then i'll have to pay. Basically i want to know if anyone else has had any similar experiences, so i can know what to expect cost wise.

If I were you, I wouldn't be too worried. First off, did you do anything to your suspension? If your car is totally stock, don't worry. It will be covered under the warranty. They have to prove that you caused the malfuncition in the first place. But if your car is totally stock and you just hit a pothole, it will be covered under the warranty.

GL, let us know what happens.

It happened to me once. I hit a curb when I was making a right turn. Steering wheel was of and DSC sign came up. Took it to the dealership and told them alignment was off. They said they would take a look.
Guess what: He said the inspection was $140 and the alignment was off. To further inspect if there's problem, they needed to do the alignment, which i believed was $400, ridiculous.
I said I was going to take my car to elsewhere to fix. Guess what, the SA told me i had to pay $140 for inspection. Then I told him at the first place I mentioned the alignment was off already, and I didn't need to pay $140 for a problem I already mentioned. Then I talked to the service manager, and he let me go without paying.
I ended up taking my car to a reputable shop which does bmw and mini services. Corrected my alignment, straightened my steering wheel, for a total of $100.

Hopefully this help

This is the best thing that I have learned. Tip your SA $100 and he will take great care of you! For current and future problems.

hey everyone, just an update, i took my car into the dealership and they said they'd take care of me, whatever that might mean. i dropped it off Thursday and it should be ready by tomorrow aka Saturday. i'll let you know what happens and how much it costs. thanks for everyone's input. oh and the only reason i didn't go through insurance is because i don't want my premiums to go up.
