Need help.. Noob questions
So I have a 09 e90 335i and im trying to get subs installed in my car as well as getting some new tweeters to improve the sound quality. my first question is how do i know what system my car has? I've been looking it up and have been reading up on the Hifi and Logic 7 but dont know what system my car has (maybe a standard system?) or how to find out. My second question would be since the car comes with a amp from stock would I just connect it to the stock amp or can I use the amp I have? (Kenwood KAC-9105D 1800-WATT MONO AMP)

You can identify your system here:
http://www.musicarnw.com/start-here-your-car/ Not trying to be discouraging or anything, but I strongly encourage you to pay someone to install your equipment. BMW audio is a tricky DIY unless you have a pretty good handle on what you're doing. |

Not to start an internet argument, but installing a system in an E90 is a breeze with basic knowledge and tools - PROVIDED that you use parts that are KNOWN to fit and work within the system you have (HiFi, L7, Base).
I would recommend checking with MusicarNW or Unexpected Creations, as they have both done extensive installations and they can both tell you what is KNOWN to work. I got my system from MusicarNW, and it took about 6 hours total to install. Everything was pre-connected, pre-wired, pre-set, and was plug & play (no cutting, no fabricating). Sure you can build your own system, using whatever components you like - there are several threads here from people who went that way - then popped in here to ask for help because they had issues... Search this subforum and you'll find plenty of info and write-ups, from people who simply replaced speakers, replaced amps, up to those who did full competition systems. There's plenty of great info here. Welcome & Good luck! |
