Dealer replacing my Professional Radio.

I own a 2010 328i with the BMW Professional Radio. Had a problem where the CD would not eject so it was determined that the radio needed to be replaced under warranty. The service rep at the dealership said it could 4 hours to marry the new radio to the car. I was told their programming software needs to run a loop through all the modules to register the radio. I guess the initial attempts failed where it got stuck in one of the modules (I believe he said one of the JB modules) and would not complete.

Currently the car is dead in their shop and they have contacted BMW NA for assist. Any idea why it would take this long to register a new radio to this car? The car ran perfectly and all the accessories worked flawlessly except for the radio eating and not ejecting my CD.

Thanks for Advance

These guys are not hackers.

There updating practices are pretty much black boxed . They hook up the programmer and press
go select few options and let it run.
You would get better answers for this on the coding or stereo
sub forum.
Its like installing windows if it stops at any point you start over again.
There are hardware differences between the newer and older radio's
at what point it started I don't know , which could be why it choked.
