I remember a little while back someone mentioned a Go-kart meet at the Speed Raceway but I don't think anything came of it. So I will try to revive the interest and see if there is any at all in setting one up?

There are 2 locations: Horsham, PA or Cinnaminson, NJ.

They have totally different tracks at each location. Both have 2 tracks each being different. The tracks aren't very long since its more geared toward turns and overall skill. Anyone can drive in a straight line not everyone can corner well. Each race consists of 14 laps. The carts are electric since its an indoor facility. At the end of the race you get a print out of your lap times, the top 12 times of the week, and your ranking overall.

If there is any interest then we can discuss the day we wish to go and time.

Pricing
- $6 Race License (yearly membership fee)(For first time goers)
- Tuesdays they have a deal which is $40 for 3 Races. Each race consists of 14 Laps.
- Every other day is $50 for 3 which is a decent deal.

Subscribed. I usually can't leave my office until kinda late on weekdays but am reasonably close to Horsham and I think I can almost always make something there if it's at 7ish.

I started that last thread but there wasn't interest. If this is on, I was just there with some coworkers last week. The Tuesday deal sounds great - if we can wait til next week, I can probably bring some peeps.

If we could get enough interest then the time would work out to be around 7-7:30 since I know most people work.

If we're going to do it, let's do it right. I wonder if we can rent one of the tracks as a group so that other folks aren't mixed in with us. Hopefully that would reduce the wait between runs. Let's shoot for mid February so that we get some real interest going. I'll provide the custom-made trophy for the fastest lapper. Who's in?

I'm in. I don't know how they set that sort of thing up, but it's definitely possible. The DelVal BMW CCA has been doing nights with 2 hour track rental (7pm to 9pm) and a reserved room (and pizza!). We've done it twice, with 32 people each time - 4 run groups of 8, with a minimum of 4 sessions for everyone. After the initial session the run groups were sorted by fastest times. It worked really well because you don't have to worry about traffic that way. I got 5 sessions in last time.

My impression is that you need quite a few people to make that arrangement tenable, but I really have no clue what it costs to put it together. They charged us $70 to attend (through motorsportsreg.com), but I don't know how much of that is for fees, food and/or profit.

If we're going to have 8-16 people, it's probably easier just to show up and have 2 run groups without a track reservation.

Renting the track is expensive. If I heard correctly last time we asked it is >$1000 an hour. I think it will come down to how many people are willing to go. When you go you can request to just run with people from your group. There will be a wait time but you wont be running with other random people.

Yes this is true. We might be able to reserve a start time but I think renting the track would cost too much.

How bout we connect this to the Saturday PTF tuning day on Feb. 23rd. Pro Tuning Freaks will be here that Friday and Saturday, tuning and dynoing cars. I thought we would fire up the BBQ if it's at all nice, and invite people to come and hang at the shop. We could do an late afternoon/early evening at the kart track. Best overall time wins a homemade trophy.

i usually get one day off in a month but i have a second day off this month and date is 23rd! i will look forward to it.
