Methanol Injection Research
So my quest for gaining knowledge on methanol is now in its month long anniversary!
A couple questions that have yielded unsubstantial results from the search engine: Why trunk mount > Windshield Wiper mount? I have seen many different opinion on sprayers... Any type that is king of the hill? Is the current BMS CP REALLY a bad located meth bung? Thanx all!

The problem with the windshield wiper mount is that if it leaks, it's leaking in your engine bay and could be a safety hazard (ie flames).
The problem with the trunk mount is that if it leaks, it can leak into your car cabin and be hazardous for your health as methanol is a chemical you don't want to inhale. Of course, it can not leak either. There's tradeoffs either way, but my personal opinion is to not mess with methanol at all unless you're really pushing for every hp your engine can make. |

The WW washer tank is prone to leaking(VERY prone) and when it does leak it will leak onto the turbos and you have a fire in the engine bay.
If you sprayers you mean nozzles then that is a subjective answer. You want to run the SMALLEST nozzle(s) you can run and still move enough meth. The smaller the nozzle the better it atomizes and the better the distribution between cylinders.

Ran 100% meth in my Subaru before I switched to a 50/50 meth/water mix. Never had an issue with it, ran it in the summer and winter in Alaska for about 3 years. The meth in the BMW has not been a problem, but I have seen the WW resevoir leak, I'm assuming because of air built up. So I may go to a separate tank and system prior to summer.
I run the 50/50 winsdhield washer fluid. I really do not see that catching fire. I have spilled the 50/50 meth mix that I had in my Subaru before as well when refilling the ww tank and never had any issues. I only get 90 octane in Alaska, so if I want to push my car, increase the boost, without blowing it up and not spend 20$ for a 20oz can of Torco at every fill up, then Methanol Injection is our only option. You can see the results when tuning the car and it feels so much better. It is fairly inexpensive too. I would never push my car to its limit, especially at higher boost levels without Meth.

If I push the car to 500+whp, I may do something like Rob, as it's a beautiful kit, just a little too much that I want to get into for now.

I've been preaching about fabbing a tank for the driver side of the engine. I've made a couple posts about it quite a while back. I'll make one for you guys to see, it will be made to be part of the fender, just wait.

Now that would be bad ass!! Less distance for pump to push...I am in! Make sure it has 4-AN & possibly a recessed baffle.

I never knew there was an issue with RB Turbos or Vargas Stg 2 fitting the XI, they are basically a hybrid of the stock turbo with upgraded parts that don't suck. There are several XI guys waiting for the Vargas Stg 2 Turbos.
There may be fitment issues with Stage 3, but not my place to comment as I have not done any research on the stage 3. Stage 2 is plenty for me.

WW windshield washer options have historically caused misfires. I've heard of my personally and spoke with others it has happened to. Avoid them like the plague.
Trunks mounts are a SAFER route. |

Just wanted to correct myself on your question and I will update my sig. I only have the BMS Meth Elbow, not the chargpipe. After doing my research I will be going with the ER CP with two meth bungs and stock DV's. I will most likely order from TopGearSolutions. So that is what I recommend. It appears I will have to sell the BMS Meth Elbow when all said and done.

Yeah, I don't understand why so many use that clear plastic/nylon hose. I run 100% VP M1 methanol in the washer tank of my C6, but I have full stainless lines. Plus, the tank isn't right near the exhaust like on the E9x cars.
If I ever decide to run meth on my 335i, I don't think I'll be using the washer tank. I'm not a big fan of a trunk-mounted tank, either. I wish there was a better solution for these cars.

Yeah, I will only use stainless when I go meth, but I agree with the trunk mount, but where else would we put it? The idea on the previous post about a driver side mount tank in the engine bay is a cool idea tho
