letter from CoverageOne........

So I recently had my transfer case motor and thrust arms replaced under extended warranty... Since the repair was over 1K, they had to send an adjustor to look at the car before approving the BMW dealership's work order.... It took a while (push back due to KW's), but my SA got the approval from CoverageOne to proceed.

This past week I got a letter from CoverageOne stating that NO further warranty repairs related to my aftermarket parts (KW V1's & Injen DCI) will be approved and that I can cancel my contract if I want.

How much did you pay for your coverage one warranty?

Garage List
Tell them to suck it. They have to honour the contract. Why should you get dinged for unrelated parts which are likely better than OEM anyways.

I am ready for a fight, I believe next on the list to fail is my waterpump.... (already at 125K km) Wonder how they can tie that into my DCI...

I had my transfer case replaced as welll, and I removed my coils before going to the dealership. Glad you got yours under warranty even with those parts on. But i don't see any reason not to honor it unless they can prove those parts were caused by your aftermarket parts.

Exactly... I emailed my SA and will escalate up the chain.

Things is, KW's and DCI were already on the car when I signed up for the extended coverage...

Not sure how they can expect someone to pay over 60K for a car and then just keep it (boring) stock...

I'll keep everyone posted.... For now, try to ballpark your repairs prior to going in, and if it is over 1K - take out your visible mods...

This is true. But Reading the op post, it sounds like just parts that went bad because ofyour mods will not be covered (once proven). Although now, it may be a bit of a battle for every repair as they will most likely blame the mods.

As for buying the warranty with mods already on it, it doesn't matter. The terms say any parts that are not OEM equipment won't be covered along with parts that get damaged to the to modified parts.

Hope all works out OP.
