did a search but didn't find my answer. I have an 07 E92 with Nav. I just bought the newest I pod nano touch screen. My questions is can my car control this new I pod and will the song info etc show up on the nav screen? I understand the BMW cable is the way to go, not knock offs.

I called the dealer and they tell me I need the USB input plug in the car for this to work through the radio controls. Sound right?

Sounds right, if your car comes with an iPod integrate option, then you can control it through iDrive using the USB y-cable. Not sure if the new iPod uses the same pins or the new pins like the iPhone 5 tho.

Would be a better solution than a factory retrofit.
As it would give you ipod , usb stick music, a2dp and blue tooth phone if you
don't already have it. If you have idrive it will be a lot cheaper to.

$600.00 ! plus install! ouch, BMW want $345.00 for factory kist, plus install. However it does provide blue tooth phone conectivity , interesting option!
