Question for subwoofer guru's
So heres what happened.
In my car im running a rockford fosgate p500 2 channel. with one rockford fosgate p1 subwoofer (i think 200 watts). My friend got a new subwoofer and wanted to make sure it worked. so i turned off my car, unplugged my subwoofer and plugged his in. Turn on the car turn on music and his subwoofer works fine. Then i turn my car off and plug my subwoofer back in and it no longer works. Music is playing but subwoofer is just not working. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

You may have shorted the speaker wires causing the amp to go into protection, or the amp fuse could be blown. May also want to check the fuse on the amp positive power cable, which should be near the battery.

The EXACT same thing happened to me in my E39. Changed one sub for another, and then switched them back. Everything was playing except for my sub. After looking properly and changing amp fuses, I realized I had somehow permanently damaged my amp. It would not come out of protection mode.

I would make sure an internal connection didn't come loose on the RF. Pull the driver and make sure all is still connected, or just do a continuity check on the speaker terminals of the subwoofer enclosure (not wired to your amp).
