320D (56) 163hp turbo issue

Hello all, my mate's turbo is whistling and he's losing power. He's managed over 150k in this car so I think he's done well tbh.

What options does he have in terms of getting this sorted and does anyone have costs for new turbo/reconditioned turbo/labour etc?

Rebuild it yourself,
Or send it away for repair its about £500 for a refurb.

I have a E91 Touring 163HP, plate 11/2006. Since new has blown 4 turbos.
1st -> 0
2nd -> 90k
3rd -> 200k
4th -> 213k

Been doing some research and the turbo's are mitsubishi and not garret....really don't know what to do....losing my temper with the bimmer.....
