telephone mute wire on prof radio
3 questions
1. can i safely remove the stereo? 2. can i connect my bluetooth car kit telephone mute cable to it (i'm not worried about steering wheel controls 3. will it be ok? as i have heard alot of the wiring in e90's is monitored, which i assume means connecting anything else causes lekky probs |

If you are using an external bluetooth kit with the car, then do a search for others who have used the likes of the Parrot Bluetooth kit. All of the BMW e90 stereos use the MBus link between components, unlike 'ordinary' car stereos, so I suggest you don't try to do this yourself. All the best. Viv |

Jason,
The guy who installed my 1st bluetooth gave me an insight on how the system works. Basically do not remove the 12VDC supply to the stereo it is monitored. Pull the stereo out by removing the ventilation controls. (see elsewhere on this site for photos). The guy said that the drivers door can trigger the system to require a visit to the dealer for a rest so make sure the drivers door is closed. I've had a Siemens bluetooth kit which died after 7 mths hard use. Now i've got a Parrot CK3100 (paid for by my work). If I had my way i'd get the colour one looks much nicer and add the add on kit that allows control via the steering wheel (if you have the buttons on the steering). Its about £50 for the kit. To be honest I'd rather pay to get someone to do it. I'll be more cost effective than taking time out of work etc..
