Bolt-On Install Prices in GTA
Hey folks,
I recently placed a sizeable order with Mike @ N54Tuning, and am wondering how much I should expect to pay for installation. Here's what I need installed: - ER FMIC - ER CP + BOV - BMS OCC - BMS DPs - BMS JB4 PNP I reached out to a reputable shop recommended by many GTA e90 members and was quoted $750 - $800. Does this seem reasonable, or should I be looking for a better deal? On a somewhat related note, I'm in the market for a full exhaust system. If you know anyone who is selling theirs used, or know of a great vendor deal I'm all ears. I have cyba quad tips coming along with his CF quad diffuser, so care much more about sound and quality vs looks. Thanks in advance, and I will definitely be making it out to at least one meet this spring Last edited by MattGrantham; 02-12-2013 at 09:54 PM.. |

You should be paying around $500 in labour to install the parts you listed.

Give these guys a shout, speak to Z Amazing people to work with. They do custom work as well, so maybe Z can build you a custom exhaust for a decent price! |

remember guys price is always most important!
thats why we buy BMW cause cheapest car. why people compare price for install or labor? Its not same as parts. Part of same brand is always same no matter price. Quality and experience can differ from shop to shop. I know price should be comparable But do not compromise quality for price. +Listen to DR.G he knows everything, call any shop tell them DR.G says $500 |

IC $200 or so CP $100 and OCC maybe $50-100 So all in, you are in the right range. You can install the JB4 yourself - read the directions and you better get good at installing it anyways as its better for you in the long run to learn how to put in on and take it off during dealer visits. You could DIY if you have the time/tools/ and willingness to take on the risk but Id recommend getting the downpipes and IC professionally installed. RMP motors is a good shop and I would recommend them - their contact info is on their website. |

I'd rather see someone post asking for recommendations about where to go BEFORE they get the work done rather than posting afterwards and asking for help because they had a hack shop mess up the work and rip them off while they were at it. Ivo @ Columbus (my goto shop) has multiple n54's roll through the shop on a daily basis and I'm sure RMP does as well. Both places are well known and have a reputation for top notch work. Here is the average pricing based off of the 3-4 most popular shops: - ER FMIC - $120 - ER CP + BOV - $60 (if you have a DCI, if stock intake a bit more) - BMS OCC - $60 - BMS DPs - $200 - BMS JB4 PNP - $60 Comes upto $500 on the dot. You can get a bit higher or lower on any of the items, but it's safe to assume you will fall within a close range of 500.

Dr.G is actually on the money with this. I was thinking the exact same price. Usually if an item is within the same install area as something Ivo won't charge any extra on labour. He's honest that way. As for quality, Ivo does top notch work. |

Not trying to be a cheapskate, just inexperienced when it comes to having this type of work done at a shop.
I've received an offer from M-Tech in Thornhill that is right in Dr. G's range. Will probably end up going with them unless I hear otherwise since the RMP quote was about 40% more. I wish I had the time to install this stuff minus DP's myself, but am super busy these days. In addition to all the performance parts, I also have a full msport kit + splitters + quad diffuser + quad tips + exhaust + scoops + brake rotors + pads, so I'm going to be doing tons of running around regardless it seems. |

Try giving Ivo a call. Top quality work and a very honest person, he prices his work competitively and reasonably. If his pricing sounds reasonable to you at least you know you have absolutely nothing to worry about in terms of getting the job done right. The prices I posted should be accurate at most shops except for the FMIC since I know some shops charge 1 hour others charge 3 for it, so that's the one item that will have the most variance.

Ivo can do everything you listed. He's at 401/Dixie (just north). He will also be the most competitively priced and produce the same quality work.
He's done my FBO E93 (install/tear down) and front bumper. If the FMIC is direct fit with no shroud cutting he will charge 1HR labour. But since you have so much, I'm sure he'll hook you up. No need to pay extra just because...just my opinion |
