Around here I'd have to cap wheel size at 18". I'm looking to pick up a new set, and as badly as I want to run 19s I just know the roads will destroy them in no time.

I've got the 19s and they're nice, but definitely fragile and must be careful to avoid large potholes. In addition, if you get the 19s, you'll only find that you can get summer tires. In the winter, you'll need a separate setup. My 313s are in the closet until April due to the Northeastern Winter. Nonetheless, I love my 19s during the summer.

I hope you guys know the 19" style 313 are genuine forged BBS wheels while the 18s are essentially a BMW made rep. The 19s are MUCH stronger than the 18s.

I've heard the 19's were forged too but others I have spoken with are skeptical about that and asked a couple of C/A's and let me tell ya they are in the clouds clueless..If they are as you say it would make my choice easier by the way hows the ride that much harder?? Uncomfortable or barely noticeable?? Thanks

I cracked a rim in December, and that was only a 17 inch wheel. Of course the run flats are entirely to blame, but that's enough to scare me away from anything too aggressive. I figure 18s with real rubber should fare better, but I don't feel confident running 19s with the smaller sidewall. Goodluck with whatever you choose, and be sure to share your new look.

18's if you're in the northeast.
I've lived up there before and know what the roads are like. Not worth having to fix your wheels time after time. That and the harsher ride will get VERY old VERY quick.

Wanted 18's but the car had 19's so I went with them. So far, 16,000 miles, so good. Removal of RFT's at 2500 miles solved the harshness & pounding over bumps issues. Have 18" versions of the same non-RFT on another BMW with M sport suspension & can't really tell the difference ride wise.
Long time Jersey resident & the Northeast is a crapshoot with any very low profile tire.

Get the 19s, remove the RFTs and store for when you need to trade or lease turn in. 18s only 8.5" out back 19's are 9". Then buy some Conti DWS in a little bigger size, 245/35 fronts and 275/30 out back. Got the look, wider contact patch, comfort and little extra sidewall for those potholes
