Iphone problem???
When i get in my car the iphone connects automatically but when i press the voice button to say dial whoever, it says my phone book is empty and on my phonebook in the car, it is only showing a few of the numbers in my contacts. So how do I syncronise my iphone contacts onto my car please?
Any help appreciated. |

Not sure if this could be a problem, just throwing the idea out there, but having switched to your new iphone recently im assuming you coppied your old phonebook to sim card,to transfer to your new phone, did you upload the phonebook to the phone memory from the sim? Maybe the few numbers are the ones added recently and saved to phone memory as opposed to sim?

You don't have iDrive, do you? Voice dial on non-iDrive e90s doesn't do any speech-to-text processing to look up phonebook contacts, you have to manually train the car contact-by-contact. As for why the phonebook in your headunit (separate from the "phonebook" the voice message is talking about) is incomplete, it probably just hasn't fully synced with your phone yet. Mine didn't go immediately after I paired the phone, I just looked next time I drove and they'd all gotten there.
The real answer is: just use siri. You have to find your phone's home button, which is more annoying than using the steering wheel, but it'll let you actually voice dial an arbitrary contact, as well as send texts, etc etc. |
