Badge on bonnet

Any tips on getting the BMW badge off the bonnet? I bought some carbon badges and managed to get the boot one off ok bit cannot get the front one off and don't want to scratch the bonnet.

Thanks

I used a credit card to go all around the edge of the badge slowly prising it up. I put a microfibre against the paint to stop scratching.

Was you boot badge stuck on?

No boot badge was just pushed on. Both credit card and floss sound good, Il give them a try.

Thanks

I got some of that thin flat wire they use to put around heavy packages, I dont know the technical name for it so if you look here in the picture its the black stuff:

Its flat enough to get underneath and strong enough to lift it.

Put masking tape all around the badge.
Warm up the badge with a hairdryer, this softens the glue.
Slide a S/market loyalty card/credit card (the wife's/partners ) under the badge, and slide it around the outside of the badge, this should cut a lot of the glue away.
Using a flat bladed screwdriver, push the driver between the underside of the badge, and the top face of the card, and prise the driver upwards,do this all the way around the badge, eventually it will come away.

Voila!

Clean the excess glue off with white spirit, nail varnish remover (I use my own )

Did mine few days ago, used old card to price under badge, top and bottom. Left card under it, then pushed a flat head under it and popped it off. Make sure you don't slip. Took like 2 minutes.

Also went for carbon, looks good.

Snapped a credit card and the floss keeps snapping. I will give the banding a try at work tomorrow. It's not glued I don't think just pushed on by 2 pins, just very tight.

Ahh, that's that name for it. Warming as said might be a good idea as well.

I used microfibre cloth to prevent scratches or damage and carefully worked round the badge with two small flat screwdrivers. There was no glue holding my old one on, just the two retaining pins into the grommets. Be careful not to snap either of the retaining pins as you prise the badge from the bonnet...

Triggster the banding worked a treat mate, slid under easy and no chance of scratching the bonnet and just prized it up. Highly recommend this method for anyone needing to do this.

Shouldn't be any glue underneath a bonnet badge. They are plugged into to two grommets on the bonnet. Badge will prise off with a bit of care....

I'm gonna 'go home' on this but without a hairdrier, these mods are hard to do!

Not my experience of removing badges from the two E92's I've had, perhaps my cars were special?

Mine wasn't glued, but the credit/club card with one small screwdriver worked for me.

Does something like that actually work? I have two minor dents (less than half a cm) I guess caused by a stone or something, and for that price maybe I should do something about them!

They work on reasonable dents, trolley dents or 1cm I dont really think it will. I've pulled out several dents for friends using simillar but they are always 5cm+ when the paint hasnt cracked!

It should provide enough suction and pull for the badge though
