5MM Spacer question

I purchased some 5MM spacers to help with a minor rubbing issue on the insider fender lining (Strut side) and then found out that some say 5MM spacer cause vibration when you have a beveled wheel and that they do not allow enough hub for the rim to sit on. Is there any truth to this?? I see a lot of people running these so I am just wondering? Are these safe for high speeds?

Since the weight of the vehicle rests on the hub/center hole of the wheel, I wouldn't feel comfortable using a spacer less than 10mm without a hub extender:

It will depend on the wheel but based on what I've seen 5mm is usually not an issue with the bevel on the wheel. There is definitely truth to what you have heard though.

Damn these are only for front hubs, need them for rears.
