M2 Performance exhaust?

Just found this on a web search. Price seems almost too good to be true. anyone tried it?

http://www.m2performance.net/index.p...st-system.html

was really looking to see if there was a good deal out there on the real deal BMW PE but this is so inexpensive and claims to be stainless... sound? drone? Any performance gains?

Untrue, I have been running this exhaust on my car with catless DPs for close to 2 years. I love the sound, and not even the closest hint of rust starting anywhere. Not only that, it fit great. Only complaint I have is the bracket they make that goes between the mufflers looks like ass. First time I saw my car from the back and could see it, I took the bracket off and cut the mounting tabs off so I couldn't see it. It still lined up perfectly after that.

To the OP, from experience b/c I actually own it, it is a great cheap exhaust and I haven't regretted buying it once.

Do you have any vids? How hard is LA on vehicles, rust-wise? (I grew up in PA where road salt is a way of life; stainless, brass, and anti-seize are necessities!)

I keep thinking that I really need a little bit louder exhaust to be happy with the car otherwise I'm going to keep sticking my foot in it, to the detriment of economy and my license.

I have had it for almost a year, sounds great and no rust, perfect fitment. No shame in cutting costs on something that is purely sound

Initial batches had rust problems, but lately that seems to have been corrected.
Without catless it sounds like Honda accord v6 (one with loud ass muffler)
With catless, sounds like muted supra.
Now some may take that as a compliment or some may consider it too Ricey on a German car. That you have to choose
Since piping change alone wouldn't help a lot in sense of performance, why don't you just do a muffler exchange and get some nicer magnaflows or borla with nice tips. That will most def be cheaper and sound you can change according to your preference

I think it sounds nothing like either of those but mkah, each to his own. Do you actually have the exhaust?

Maybe you have a different version. The one my friend has sounded like shit with catless dps it was so freaking loud and droned like a bitch. It was all rusty when taken off.

Thats crazy, there had to be a bad batch like previous posters have said. Because mine seriously has zero drone, and it really is not that loud. It has def gotten a little louder over time since its been on the car for over a year. As for the rust there is not a spot of rust on it. I had the car up in the air 2 days ago and there is none.

Crazy thought. If this same exhaust was being sold for $1799.99 from a reputable sponsor on this site, all naysayers would probably be praising how perfect fitment is and how "exotic" it sounds. Price plays a big role in perception. Especially from people who don't have first hand experience with owning the product.

I do agree with that.

VRSF has been consistently producing top notch products at affordable prices. Their exhaust isnt that much more expensive and intend on making several versions to please all of our ears.

I'm actually looking at buying the M2 exhaust myself. I would love to have a Vanguard or HPF exhaust, but I'm just not willing to fork over that type of cash. I didn't know anything about the exhaust until today. I found out about it while I was Youtube surfing. From the videos and different reviews, it seems that there's a mixed crowd when it comes to this exhaust. Some people are arguing that why would you spend $35-$40k on a car and put a cheap $500 exhaust system on it? While others argue that it's all about personal taste and as tmo24 stated above if this exhaust was from a more well know company then, yeah, it would get all the praise and glory, but for it only being $500 you really cant beat it. Just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's not a good product, VRSF is a prime example The thing I like about the exhaust is the sound, which is subjective to everyone, to me it has a nice deep grunt like tone, which gives it a v8 type of sound. I was going for the VRSF exhaust, but that's way to tame for my taste. I may just wait the next couple of weeks and see how the street version of the VRSF system sounds before I make the jump. I just dont see myself spending $1500+ for an exhaust system, I mean if you got it then you have it, but for me, I'm looking toward the lower end of the exhaust spectrum. Unless someone wants to sale me a Vanguard or HPF for the low low

I personally think it sounds very similar to vangaurd, I have heard both in person. My buddy had it while I had the M2 both with catless DPs and I swore they almost sounded the same. As for HPF, trust me from experience, you do not want that exhaust. The drone is miserable, and I always have loud exhausts so I am used to it and it is terrible. Yes, I know they added a resonator, but the difference will be minimal inside the car from that.

I have had this exhaust for a while, best bang for my buck I have seen yet, I love it.

Awesome man, I appreciate the input. I'm looking at Amazon right now and I think Im going to go ahead and make the jump $385 shipped, I really cant go wrong with that price and even if it does rust, I'm still $1000+ in the clear compared to the higher end brands, Ill just buy another one until I sale the car lol

M2 exhaust is great. i've had it over a year; not a spec of rust, sounds great and fits perfect. For the price, it's a no-brainer.

Well, I just made a purchase for the exhaust and I have a question regarding the exhaust tips. It seems that many people who have and or had the system, all shared a common complaint regarding the exhaust tips, many complained that it looked cheap. So my question is, can I change out the exhaust tips or would I have to buy new mufflers to get the look I want? I was checking out a couple of the Cyba exhaust tips and a few of those caught my eye, especially black chrome so I was just wondering if those would work with the current system? This will be my first exhaust system so I'm not to familar with how replacing the tips actually work.
