Braided Hoses - worth £100?
Just wondering, really.
I need to change the brake fluid on my car sometime this week or next, and if I wanted to change to stainless hoses, now would be the best time to do it. But it's £100 (give or take) for the set of 6. The car is 6 years old now. Is it worth doing, or is it wasted money? Should I just stick with the oringinal rubber ones until they perish?

I did this on another car (non BMW) and it made absolutely no difference to the operation of the brakes whatsoever. Only benefit might be in the very long term, when non-steel hoses I believe may expand due to deterioration of the plastic, leading to longer pedal travel/sponginess.
Personal view - keep you're money in you're pocket...

Cheers - I think I was leaning that way anyway. I'll put decent brake fluid in, and fit decent pads and discs when they're due for changing, but this is a road car, for the commute to work and ferrying kids to school and back. I don't need high performance brakes

Its another myth these braided lines. Pressure in will always equal pressure out so the only gain is less expansion in the pipes. I sometimes change my motorbike ones but you are moving very little fluid. I had an issue with my original BM brakes where I couldnt cure the spongy feel no matter how many times they were bled. I fitted s/h 335 calipers and they were much firmer. Have no idea why.
