I went to the dealership over the weekend and they told me my back tires need to be replaced on my 09 e90. They gave me a quote of $970 for 2 run flats. My question is if I replace the rears with non run flats and the fronts are still run flats, will their be any issues?? Also what non run flats would you recommend?

You probably shouldn't mix and match tires. As for brands, try continental dw or Michelin pilot super sport.

Avoid mixing run flat and non run flat tires due to unstable handling, especially at highway speeds and when cornering and any speed.

You have two sensible choices. Assuming the fronts have about 1/2 tread remaining, you could follow the dealer's suggestion and replace the rears with the exact same tire; but check TireRack's prices before purchasing from a dealer. Or you could buy 4 new non RFTs and discard the still good fronts.

I found the latter course was actually cheaper, but you should do some shopping.

Also, buy a good tread depth gauge so you will be able to monitor your tire wear in the future.

buy 4 new non rft and sell your current front ones on the forums, im sure someone would want them. thats what i am going to do this coming spring.

To be fair, the price quote at the dealer usually includes the super expensive full alignment job.

+1 . Tread depth gauges are cheap and simple tools that will last forever.

I would not mix and match non-RFTs with RFTs. That being said, if you make the switch to non-RFTs I think you'll be happy. Michelin Pilot Super Sports are awesome summer tires that you really can't go wrong with.

FYI, I took my OEM runflats off my wheels in November when I mounted my winter tires. My new summer wheels are 19s, and so I have no need for my OEM run flats. If you want to hold off on a new set of tires, and just want one or two rear tires, I'll break up my set of tires and sell to you what you want. I can send you pictures/tread depths if you're interested. Say $50 per tire + shipping? I think you could easily get one more year of driving out of them (12-15k miles, depending on how you drive).
