XD600/6 and BSW Speaker upgrade?

Oh hi,

I was looking around in here, couldn't find any reviews of someone upgrading to XD600/6 and the BSW speakers. Can anyone comment or point me to a review? (I did see the combination mentioned, but actual user feedback)

Thanks

Kmarei has amped them successfully but the original BSW kit is not designed for amp power. There is a compononent set which is.

I have the BSW's amped with an xd400/4, so the same power as the xd600/6. They sound very good but not great. Much better than the oem hifi. The only difference between the bsw mids/tweeters and the new component set is the additional passive crossover provided. I have mine installed without the passive crossover, just the cap on the tweeter. High passed about 160hz and getting 100w (at 2ohm) from the JL amp. Been running them over a year no issues.

Thanks for the replies. Just trying to figure out how much to spend. I just got the 2011 328i, actually traded a 530xi with the logic 7. I would say the Logic 7 was okay and the HiFi in the 328 is poor.

I too have the 328 that came with the hifi. Yes the stock hifi in these cars is terrible for any car, let alone a $40-50K car. I think a very good budget minded upgrade would be the xd600/6 like you are thinking about. I would replace the front door mids and tweets but keep the stock rear deck and the stock underseat woofers. For the front doors; morels, focals or rainbows.

One thought I had was upgrading by leaving the OEM speakers in place and adding the XD600/6. Just have to re-code first for it to be viable.
