E90 2011 328I Audio upgrade help!

Hola all- I am not new to the upgrading of car steros but I seem to be at an impasse with all the info on here- I had a 1985 Z that I totally redid, and next was a 1998 Camaro, and lastly was my 2005 Acura TL which by far is one of the best sounding stock set-up on the market at least back in 2005 it was- DVD-Audio was amazing in it and all I added in that was 2 10" Rockford Fosgates with a 2 channel amp.

SO when I bought my BMW which has the HI-FI audio set-up 2 tweets, 2 front- 2 shallow subs and 2 rear- It wasn't horrible but of course I wanted some low-end.

I had my Fosgate box and amp installed in the trunk (goodby trunk space and this worked well- problem i was having was the rear deck was rattling at certain low long tones.... my installer thought of adding some foam to that area to help it out but could not promise i still would not get the rattle... So wanting to have a trunk since i hadn't in my TL which prior housed these monsters LOL I tried to add just the earthquake 8" subs under the seat- (of course knowing i would not be getting the low end i was so use to...

So now I am seeking out help from people that know what is best (You all I hope)

and really would like to get in touch with someone that is local and doesn't mind helping out a fellow bimmer guy :

I would like to stay under 1k tops and have a system that is well rounded - as much as I love bass- i truly just want it to be clear and hit when its suppose to hit

Hmm I don't think I quite get what you're asking. I see you've gone through both a rear sub addition AND an underseat sub addition but didn't like either.

So do you want something under the seats that would be louder or do you want something as loud as your past system that wouldn't take up as much space in your trunk?

Yes I have gone through a rear sub- it was def nice but took up all my trunk space- and at different low end tones i was getting a distinct rattle from the rear deck area- The Earthquake subs underneath are nice and I read somewhere that a little breaking in period helps them- but I also know I am not going to get the same kind of low-end that I did with my box- I can live with that but also would still like a well-rounded system- just would like a trunk space to be a part of that equation if that makes any sense lol

Jl xd600/6 and technic harness

Jl xd600/6 and technic harness.
To Power the doors and the under seats is the standard solution.
The Hi Fi amp is way to weak for the underseat speakers you have.
Most people that are not bass heads find this pretty adequate/or great
with the front doors and and floor speakers changed out to something aftermarket. Also its not a big load on the electrical system due to class D
Tech.
The stock speakers sound better with this but speakers that handle
more power should be considered.

please read the above and the Hi Fi section especially.

I actually left the 2 channel Rockford Fosgate amp that was on the 2 10' box hooked up for the floor subs- plenty of power is going to those hence why I said it is ok just lacking the low-end- some music sounds just fine while some as I said is missing what I was more accustomed to-

So if I add the JLxd and change the tweets and mids its best to keep these plus the 2 8" subs on the same amp?

@Ctuna also thx for your reply.

How much power does the rockford give your sw's

How much power does the rockford give your sw's.
If you feel its enough you could just get a xd 400/4 for your
doors and Technic has suggestions on the lower cost door component
sets that work and or fit. Look at some of the setups in the
Hi Fi section of the audio thread in the previous response.
Diamond Audio or DLS are the lower priced solutions for the doors . If the car is a coupe then your choices are more limited because of speaker depth.
If the the floors aren't enough bass a lot of people do a side loaded
10 inch sub woofer but I am no expert on that. It might rattle your side panel instead of your rear shelf.
The other route is to add a ms-8 and a center dash speaker but I am no
expert on that either, it is however very popular. Then you add amps and speakers to that.

Hey Ctuna- Thx again for the reply- the Rockford is def. enough power- it was powering my 2 10's and I basically kept that at the bear minimal on the bass knob. I guess my question with running everything off the Jl xd600/6 is it better for overall sound quality vs. using the xd 400/4? And my car is a 4 door so I dont have to be concerned as much with the speaker depths as the coupe

I don't know anything about the Rockford

I don't know anything about the Rockford.
JL is quality product. Its accepts balanced inputs(perfect for the stock head unit), fits in the stock location, has the right number of channels for all the
speakers, and has a lot of crossover adjustments. The XD seems standard for the Hi Fi replacement for an amp/speakers only solution.
I have only had the XD so I think you need to ask someone else like Technic maybe. Then you could use the Rockford for Subs or forget the rear seat speakers and run a small sub off two channels of the xd bridged.
This will not make a thumper but it will clean up the top end.
