Preventive "Flush-EVERYTHING" deal?

Hi guys.
So I was chatting with my dealership about my new-to-me 2008 xi (bought with 73,500 km (45,650 mi) with a largely unknown service history, now at about 84,000km (52,000 mi). It is CPO for 1 more year and I will put almost 60,000 km/yr (37,000 mi/yr) on it. What I'm trying to avoid is skipping out on preventive fluid changes at the expense of stuff breaking down AFTER the CPO is over.

Reading your maintenance posts, MANY issues and suggestions surround fluids. My dealer offered me the following package which is about 30% ***CORRECTION: about 17%. hm. not so big a deal now...*** less than doing them all one-at-a-time. What do you think, on two counts:

1/ Good idea or waste of money to flush EVERYTHING to try to ensure a fresh starting point for me during my ownership of the car? I know they can tell me the service history, but it feels like sleeping in someone else's bed without fresh sheets (for those who know what that might be like... ha)

and

2/ Price of $1740+tax (Canadian dollars...about the same as USD but I don't know what your service rates are like - e.g. $135 CAD for dealership oil change here) for all of the following in one shot: Oil change, Spark plugs, Coolant flush, Power steering flush, Brake service / fluid flush, Transfer case fluid flush, Fuel injector flush, Microfilter, Air filter?

I did my own transmission and diffs...total cost $185 including filter, gasket and redline fluids

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

To the best of my knowledge, this is the approximate cost if you DIY'ed

Oil change - $70 (Tischer BMW)
Spark plugs - $55 (Advance Auto)
Coolant flush - $30
Power steering flush ($60 since its Pentosin)
Brake service / fluid flush - $50
Transfer case fluid flush - $60 with new plugs
Fuel injector flush - ?? not sure
Microfilter - $20 (Advance Auto)
Air filter - $20 (Advance Auto Mann Filter)

Things not on your list:
Front Differential - $15 (one bottle of redline fluid)
Rear Differential - $15 (one bottle of redline fluid)
Transmission flush - $170 (parts from Tischer and fluid from Amazon)

You are assuming the OP DIYs. Not everyone knows how to work on cars.

Yes but I am saying its a good idea to learn especially with all the DIYs posted on this forum. Total cost above is $565 vs the $1400 plus tax that his dealer wants. For over $800 on savings, is it not worth learning it? These are not complex DIYs by any means

Hello again.
Ok, wow - I knew dealerships were routinely called stealerships for a reason, but I'm still surprised each time the name-calling is proven to be based on fact!

Ok, so yes I agree $1700 vs. $500-600 is a bit much. I have worked on cars in the past (out of necessity) and like the man says - if the ladies don't find you Handsome, they should at least find you Handy! In recent years it has become more convenient to pay than to do it myself, however with a 300% disparity... hmmm... maybe it's time to track down a reliable DIY manual and pull out the toolbox again!!

Thanks for the input everyone - once again, I'm glad I checked here first!
