P30FF error.....Boost Leak HELP
Got the boost leak error yesterday. I've checked all vacuum hoses and diverter valves to make sure nothing has popped off. I can't see/feel any noticeable cracks or splits in any hoses, DV's, or Chargepipe. I know there are possibilities of wastegate problem or FMIC connection..., but I do have one question. I've noticed that when I squeeze the hose in picture 1 below, that I can hear air coming from what seems like one of the solenoids in picture 2. Is that normal or is one of the solenoids stuck open? I read that can be one of the boost leak problems.
Car runs fine with no errors as long as I'm not going over 3-4K RPM. Car idles at -8psi, and will go up to 7psi at about 5K RPM before error occurs. Light usually comes on right at the shift. Thanks in advanced! |

Just fix the leak...
The hose in the picture is for water cooling, nothing to do with boost

Extremely helpful, thank you. I'm trying to determine where the leak is. I wouldn't have thought anything about the hose except that I was hearing air from near the solenoids when I squeeze it.

If you have an 07 out in the texas heat it's possible that the vac lines to the wastegates have started to dry rot and crack a little causing a slight leak under full boost. I had a similar problem with my sti when i had one.

Ur probably just moving the water moving, if there was leak in coolant line you would know it. I had boost leak issues, I found oil at the connections of the fmic just tighten t clamps more....... But lots of other things it could be, yoda, I'd start with the fmic connections first

Been chasing mine down for weeks, replacing front 2 vac lines and plugs while it all apart on Saturday. already replaced the stock CP and diverters.
Good luck finding it as yours does exactly the same as mine.
