What Are People Paying For Leased 335i Coupes???

Hey guys, I checked out the sticky thread above about what people are paying for their coupes but I dont see any lease prices. All I see is people posting how much they got off MSRP. I'm looking to lease a 6 spd 335i coupe with NAVI, PREMIUM and COMFORT ACCESS. I found a white one, MSRP is right around 50k. If anyone could post up similar lease prices and what deals they got that would be great. I need all the help I can get so i can chew these guys down to thebest of my ability

When you negotiate the price of the car, it should be the price regardless of what financing option you choose. After we negotiated the price, my BMW Center gave me a table showing what the prices would be on a 24/30/36 month lease, as well as what it would be if I financed it. Since I ordered my car, the final paperwork won't be signed until the car comes in... so right now I'm not locked in to leasing or financing.

First, negotiate the price of the car you're looking to buy. When you get that straight, then decide how you're going to pay for it.

yea I know that, I know that its all based off of MSRP. I just want to see what people are getting them for MSRP wise and what the payments are based off what MSRP. I'm thinking I want to be under 700$ a month with under 3000$ total out of pocket for a 36/15k lease but i'm not sure if thats feasible because I need to know what MSRP it would take to get me there.

You should to be able to get around $700, but again, its based really on how you option out your car.

Here is what you do:

The August Money Factor for the 2007 335i coupe was .00200 with a 58% residual on a 36mo lease. For additional costs, plan around $650-$800 for doc fees, etc.

That should give you a pretty good idea about what your monthly payment would be.

Some states require you to pay the sales tax on the lease up-front...so if thats the case, plan on shelling out $1000-$2000 for that. In total, your upfronts will probably be around $3000-$4000 (includes 1st Payment, Aquisition Fee, lic. plates, and taxes). Of course you could roll it into your lease, but that would increase your monthly payments.

Now with this info you can play all night specing out your car and have an idea of what it will cost you each month.

The main problem with asking people what they paid is that with the 3-series, you have almost $12k in options (i.e. premium/sport packages, nav, ipod, etc, etc, etc.) your COULD choose to add...everyone has different tastes and lives in different markets which causes price variances.

FYI - My lease is under $700, and I have nearly the same car as you.

Hope this helped.

ok my car i'm looking at is 49975 MSRP. The dealer is at 699$ a month with 4500$ down. Its a 6spd sport with premium, NAV, comfort access. Lease deal is 36/15k a year

what do you think?

what do you think?
To really know the true deal (and if its good or not), you need to get a break down from them:

1) What is the Money Factor and Residual % they are giving you?
2) What are the doc/bank fees?
3) What is the Acq. Fee?
4) You know the MSRP, but is that what you negociated with them?

Based on the specs you provided, the invoice price for your car is around $44,500 and the MSRP is $48,300. You must be getting more option(s) than you are suppying if they are quoting a MSRP of $49,975.

I'd say its in the ballpark, but $4500 does seem a little high for the downpayment.

See if you can get more details from them, otherwise we won't really know if its a good deal or not.

well i'm going there in 6 hours to finalize pricing. They have one of the only 2 cars with all of the options I want in the NE of the US so unfortunately they have a slight upper hand with me.

I checked out the lease calculator but that doesnt take mileage amount into account. If person A wants 10k a year and person B wants 18k a year thats a huge difference. I'll post back what prices i end up with

That's what I did, but I wasn't sure if it was a smart thing to do or not. The dealers have flexibility in terms of the money factor, I'd assume, so is there a possibility they will be unreasonable when I go in to finalize whether I will lease/finanace the car? My car is on a boat right now on its way over so I'll probably be going in sometime this upcoming week.

The lease calculator is based on 12k miles/yr...to go from 12k to 15k is around $10-20/mo for a 36-mo lease.

When you play the "i'm at the mercy of the dealer and I need a car now" game, then that is where you are most likely to get f*cked. If you can't wait to either ping out-of-area dealers over the Internet (see the board sponsors) or have one built for you at more reasonable terms, then there isn't much more you can do.

It doesn't sound like you are getting taken for a complete bath, but without all the number we just don't know. Good Luck!

ok left at 8am and tried to make this ferry from Long island to CT but missed it. Then i tried to drive around, got halfway and had to turn back because i realized there was no way i was going to make it back by 4pm (i have a show to go to with my family locally)

then on the way back i stopped in NJ to look at the demo i was considering and it turns out someone hit the car last night so that car is a wash too.

I decided to suck it up and order a car. ELGUEVON you've been a ton of help, whats a good site sponsor to check out? I have a local dealer willing to give me 1000 off of msrp. let me know if you think i can get a better deal somewhere else

Yeah, there's a possibility that they will try and sweeten the deal as much as they can on their end... but you can also walk away from the deal as well. Just don't get caught up in the whole "I waited this long for my car, so I'll agree to anything at this point" mentality.

Always negotiate to dollars above US Confidential Wholesale or ED Confidential Wholesale. Negotiate the Training Fee away. This is just more concealed dealer profit.

Leasing. Always seek out a deal where you get the BMW Buy Rate. The Acquisition Fee should be $625. Dealers typically try to get $825, but informed BMW Enthusiasts negotiate this back to $625.

Your strategy to negotiate price first is sound. However the best way to negotiate the lease is to do that at the time of purchase. If you want the lease to float then get the dealer to agree to give you the BMW Buy Rate. This means that you get the lease without building extra profit for the dealer. Also the Acquisition Fee should be $625. The dealer will try to get $825. You would let it float if you think that the lease rates will go down by the time of purchase. Otherwise the common way to lease a BMW, even if ordered, is to agree upon the lease rate when you order the car. The Buyer has the advantage then. By waiting and trusting the dealer, the buyer is at the disadvantage when the car arrives at the dealership. Always check the dealer's math using Lease Wizard Software. It costs about $27. BMW dealers routinely, as in just about always, make math errors in the lease in their favor or/and slip in extra fees, when doing a lease. The lease math is abstruse and the dealers know that consumers rarely check their math on the lease. If they get caught, the finance manager will just say "sorry' and take off the hidden charge or math error. They know that if caught, it is not a deal breaker as long as they fix it. Leasing is huge profit center for the typical BMW dealer and it takes 20 minutes of time to handle the lease.

Glad to help...I'll summarize what prior posters have said as its the numbers you should get if you are educated and stick to your guns.

This would be for a 36 mo/15k miles lease for a 2007 335i coupe:

Money Factor Rate (August 2007): .00200
Residual: 58%
Acquisition Fee: $625
Training/Dealer Fee: $0 (press hard for this as they can be around $600)
Price: Don't use MSRP as your price basis, use the INVOICE pricing
Here is a link to the wholesale invoice pricing to generate the invoice price of your car:
2008 Model: http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...3&d=1187278245
2007 Model: http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...5&d=1152216122

After you get the invoice price, the going rate SEEMS to be around $1000-$2000 above invoice for coupes...obviously shoot for $1000

Here is my only concern for you if you decide to order one: I'm NOT 100% sure you can still order 2007 335i coupes anymore. You might be caught in the transition period to 2008 models. Given its now September, the 2008 3-series lease money factors might be available (they were not in August). I have not found them posted yet. Call or PM Irv Robinson to find out.

Irv Robinson is one of the more reputable salespersons (and an E90 sponsor) both on this web site and others. You can check out others opinions of him here and they are all positive: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42850

Here is a link to his info: http://www.e90post.com/forums/member.php?u=12676

If you do decide to order one, I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend checking out the European Delivery (ED) option as you can save around $2-3k. There is a whole section devoted to ED and they have a different vehicle price list. Search the forums for more information.

All right...hope this all helped and you get your car! Keep us informed. Good luck!!

yea I do have to order an 08. Let me ask you a question. If you do the ED, dont you have to pay for the trip though? I feel like a trip to Germany would basically offset the lower price you pay for the car.

AND my other problem is I'm going to vegas in 4 days for a week and then again to vegas for 8 days in 5 weeks so IDK if I can get off work for that.

ok just read up on the ED. Sounds like something I'm going to do on my next BMW purchase. I dont want to only be able to go for a week. I think me and my GF will go together for maybe 2-3 weeks next time I get a BMW. It will probably be a few years from now.

In the meantime I sent IRV a PM. Seems like he is a great guy from what I read. I hope we can work it out since I'm all the way in NY and he's in IL. Thanks again for the help guys, I'll post up what happens.

No. It typically comes out in the first week of the month. Typically it is posted around the 5th or 6th.

ED is not rocket science. I would just look for a dependable dealership in your area. Otherwise you pay the expense of shipping the halfway across the US. Plus the Vehicle Distribution Center (VDC) for New York is in NY which is the first US stop. Midwest cars go to the VDC in South Carolina. By using a Midwest dealership you adding 2 weeks to the transit time plus $600 minimum to ship the car back to you.
