What is the voltage at the battery terminals when the car is running and the voltage at the jump terminals when the car is running? 12.04 is on the low side of good battery voltage.

according to BMW 12.04 volts would be pretty shot. Anything less than 12.4-12.6 is too low from a testing standpoint

The 12.04 VDC doesn't sound right for the charging system which is what you are measuring with the meter with the engine running. Typically, you will see around 14 VDC output from the alternator when taking values at the battery posts. With the engine off and a fully charged good battery, you should see something in the range of 12.0-12.5 VDC at the battery.

Yes, like orion4 said, you should get 14V+ with the car running. Anything less than that is either a bad battery or alternator.

did you get your voltage reading through OBD2 diagnostics or with a multimeter?
