Gutted!

Driving my 330i today past some metrolink works in south Manchester and a gust of wind dislodged some fencing and blew it in to my path. I managed to avoid a full front end hit but it caught the near side of my car at various points. Given where it happened it was massively dangerous to take a picture which I know would have been ideal at the time. I'm going to return when is quieter and get snap of the location. I immediately contacted the police as the fencing was going to cause an accident.

I have rang the metrolink people and sent and email.

Got everything crossed that they pay for the damage. In so gutted that this has happened.

Rant over!!

Wow! Bad luck mate - or is it good luck?? Try and be positive, could have been worse - could have come through the windscreen etc. Not much solace I know.

I would be quietly confident that they will pay up. The Police will contact them as well about it, so they will want to get everything sorted and not make more fuss than necessary about the danger to the public that they have caused.

Are you from Darlo btw?

Thanks mate, yeah could have been alot worse I suppose.

Police have contacted me saying its a civil dispute. I will recontact them tomorrow to see if they sent anyone to put the fence back as this will support my story.

Will make some more phone calls and send some more emails tomorrow until someone puts in writing that they are paying!!

Nope, not from Darlo! Get asked that on most of the forums, its just my nickname at work and has been for 8 years!

Thanks mate, ive been recommended one not far from me in Altrincham so nipping round tomorrow to get a quote.

Ive taken lots of pictures of the scene, the damage to my car and a full report on exactly what happened. They are playing ball at the minute but not actually said they will pay, but they havent said they wont so fingers still crossed
