Think mine had eight on the clock when I picked it up.

The X5 courtesy car I had a few weeks ago alos had eight on the clock.
May be a standard test run the cars go before being shipped.

i dont think so, otherwise mine would have had more, i think i have read on the US section some only had 2!!!

i dont think there is any standard test run or anything, its just a cheeky fookin drive by dealers/technicians, and dock staff

Hmm maybe they drive the US cars round factory car park (into USA export bonding area) and drop them on transporter for shipping.
As they'll most likely be wrapped up ready for shipping. I've seen Jags exported in this way.

Whereas the EU cars get driven to local car park for storage until transporter arrives. Don't think they give them the same protection if its being shipped in EU.

He he, yeah considering the car was delivered to my house on a covered trailer...

Sytners had the car delivered to their other branch up the road and then drove it for storage at the branch I was dealing with....

Or at least that was the story I was given - probably thrashed around the docks for a couple of hours - and used as a test drive car for a day or two.
