Angry Bottle smashed on car!!

Had my car parked outside my girlfriend's house last night, came out this morning to find that some scumbag has smashed a bottle over it right above the driver door window
no dents in the car fortunately but the window is badly scratched!!

Wtf am I meant to do... I highly doubt it can be fixed because of how bad it is, am I going to have to buy a new window?
If so, does anyone know the sort of price?

Absolutely raging. Some people are pure scumbags with no respect for anybody else's property. No need for it whatsoever!

Insurance claim for glass only is very unlikely to affect your no-claims

Will just be the Glass Excess.

That damage clearly affects your side vision so should be no issue for the glass company to justify the work.

I was wondering what it would be like with regards to no claims which I don't want affected of course.
Not actually sure if I have protected no claims in my policy either, will have to check up on it.
If it'd solve it without affecting no claims I'll use the insurance of course.

Gutted, I had some scumbag cause £1200 worth of damage to my car last year that I had to fork out from my own pocket because who ever it was didn't own up.

Hope its an easy fix, lucky it didn't dent the A pillar.

This shouldn't affect your no claims.

I had my front passenger window smashed (they riffled through my glovebox), and I claimed through insurance. £30 window excess, didn't count as a claim.

Maybe call your insurance company, and ask them first (don't provide your name/policy number).

Bastards!

I can confirm that it will not affect you no claims bonus but you will have to pay the windscreen excess as others have said.

Upsetting. If this was to happen to mine, it would probably be best if I didn't catch them!

What do they say in Pulp Fiction. You don't f*ck with a man's car!

I hope they got splinters in their eyes at least the scummy ba**ards. Hopefully wont effect your insurance pal but you could always try a breakers for one if it does.

Thanks for the input guys. I shall ring the insurance in the morning and see about how it would work. Thankfully it's the side window and not the windscreen, & like some of you have said luckily the A Pillar hasn't been damaged.
She live in one of the nicer areas in Belfast, although the problem is its where a lot of students live so it's obviously been some wank3r out getting blocked then for what I can only assume as an act of jealousy or the likes thought it'd been a good idea to smash their bottle on the 'nice car'.

As for the perpetrator, I hope they ended up getting a bottle smashed over their face afterwards.

Had thought about this, and found a DIY on here of someone doing it. Can't find a replacement window though

I won't be leaving the car over night outside there again. A couple of streets up and it's out of the 'studenty' area and there's porsches and bimmers and all sorts outside the houses so I think I'll leave it there if I have to.

OP - bad luck!

In 2008 I had a milk bottle (full of milk) smashed up the windscreen of my previous E90, aside from milk going everywhere it dented the roof line right above the screen at the seal edge, un-repairable.

Most insurers cover vandalism damage without affecting no claims, but even if yours don't then thankfully yours is just a window claim, like a smashed screen,

Good luck getting it fixed..
