TPMS Trouble

Hey all,

I need some advice. I just swapped out my OEM style 159 17" wheels for some OEM style 67 wheels 19". I drive an 08' e90 335i, and the wheels came off of, i believe, an 04' e46 m3.

When I swapped the wheels I got an indication light that my TPMS was "inactive". I tried the whole resetting the system outlined in the Owners manual but it doesn't seem to work.

Could there be a compatibility issue with the old sensors on the 19" wheels and my software on the 08 or is there an easier fix.

I would appreciate the help.

yeah i went from 16s to 18s and my light is on permanently. How do you get the computer to accept a new standard for what the tpms is supposed to read? I dont have individual sensors, my tpms is the kind that uses the abs to calculate rolling resistance or mass moment of inertia or something.

...Lol typical Germans. We'd all be speaking German had they made Tiger Tanks less complicated and easier to mass produce.

Are there TPMs on the E46 wheels? I don't think the E46 used any TPMs. You'll have to install the TPMs from the OEM E90 wheels onto the E46 wheels for the system to work properly.

No the 2006 models had FTM not TPMS basically using the ABS to calculate rolling resistance/mass moment of inertia/tangential velocity to determine a change in wheel diameter and notify you you have a flat. I want mine permanently disabled.
