Not had mine long (less than a month), fuel economy seems to be around the 30mpg mark. Performance, coming from a smaller car previously ofc I am happy with it, BMW's cruise so naturally at higher speeds on the motorway. Must say I'm liking the sound of the 325i at higher revs, 3.0 litre is a nice touch.
Overall I am happy but find myself focusing on performance due to the fact the 325 has a bit of punch, whereas I originally wanted an E92 for the handling, comfort & class. |

Had mine almost a year.
Still absolutely love driving it. Only time I feel the car lacking in power is when trying to accelerate from say 40-50 to 70. Got to drop a few cogs, and even then it dosent fly. The sound is awesome though when you give it some beans. Performance is great off the line too Economy is fine. (30mpg) Get about the same as my old 2.0L Mondeo, which was a lot less fun to drive. |

I am not yet but I am picking up an manual e93 325i next week.
Performance was adequate with 3 of us in the car on the test drive, most of the time it will just be me in the car so that will help. I'm coming from a 160bhp mini cooper s, so I'm expecting similar performance as the e93 is heavier. It seems the 325i is the forgotten car as far as mods go. Has anyone changed the back box on theirs? I'm not fussed with increased power but a little extra noise wouldn't go a miss. |

US (3.0l) E90 325i here.
Love / Hate relationship with the performance. Only lightly modded. Better feel than most Non-Bimmers, but slow compared to 335i. I average 29 mpg's most places. |

I've had mine coming up to 3 years now and love it to bits especially after the bmw pe I got fitted. Do sometimes wish there was a bit more power but think that's just human nature always wanting more.
Sound clip after the pe install |

Its civil. A lovely low rumble louder than the stock exhaust. TBH listening to it drive away is the nuts! When you let rip the tone changes a bit but still sounds sweet.
price including the link pipe was £350 on ebay...I was lucky. The link pipe goes from the bottom of the headers to the back box but hasn't been drilled for the nitrogen or oxygen sensors and eliminates the secondary cats. I didn't fit it because of the work required for the sensors plus the car probably won't pass MOT with no secondary cats! |

My one is estate, manual and 2.5
Performance: when we bought it it was and even after more than a year and now I want more power, but as our car is only one in our family and my missis is main driver ( she drives every day to work) I don't think we need more power Noise is brilliant of 6 cylinders Economy is not that bad in motorways. Around 40mpg, but in town is a killer Verdict |

Thanks! It's official mate....its got the bmw pressed plate with part number etc. I did have concerns before buying for the same reason you mention...but I compared parts numbers on real OEM and asked around before buying. I thought worse case if it don't fit I'll put it back up in ebay...but it fit....and I've never looked back.

Iv had my 325 (3ltr) auto for about 3 months and its awesome. The power is not bad and if needed putting it into sports mode or change down on gear and it goes. But used to have a skyline r34 and obviously it was more performance than luxury. Since having the car iv remapped it adding about 15bhp so it should be pushing 230 plus. There r a few other things that I will b doing like an induction kit and exhaust system. I would be happy getting it to 250 bhp. I believe the likes of mstyle offer an upgrade with new headers, remap, etc which gives u an extra 50 bhp or so.... But it's expensive!

When I was looking, I found the Mosselman Re-map which adds 10bhp for £380. Didnt think that was worth it. They also do a full 330i "conversion" which costs £1299, which again is just a lot more money than I have spare atm. Link if anyone is interested: http://mosselmanturbo.co.uk/remappin...25i-e90-218hp/ |

Wow that PE sounds great. BB is one of the next few things I want to do, but I don't fancy paying £700 or whatever it is for a BMW one. So I may cheat and try the BB delete option. Think it maybe too loud but I'll give it a go.

The 325 does seem like a weird middle ground. It seems purposely under tuned and probably is. |

Ok cool, not heard of that.
I think old 325s or 328s (or maybe both) were de-tuned/strangled by inlet manifolds and exhausts. 60 bhp, or whatever the difference is to the 330, seems a lot for half a litre. I remember JC saying on TG that he felt like the Cayman wasn't all it good be so it sat nicely in the middle of the Porsche range. So there could be some ok gains from breathing mods but on a BM they don't come cheap. Well I think the Dave F kit (I think) wasn't too much on the E36. |

Only had mine a couple of weeks now 325i 3ltr auto. Loving it so far, I had a mk5 r32 for the last 3 years, the bm isn't as quick as the R but it is more comfortable and a fair bit better on fuel. I was getting around 250-270 per tank in the golf but getting about 330 miles from the bmw. Also had a Miltek exhaust on the golf which sounded awsome, so think I will have to change the exhaust on the bm at some point. Not missing the golf at all, and got a lot of love for the BMW at the moment.
