6FL - iPod Issue - 2 Tips that reduced 90% of my switching
Hey guys,
My dealer tried to fix the 6FL issue but came back to me and said they were waiting for a software update to finalize the fix. My car was switching all the time - during iPod playback and when the car was turn off. So annoying! So I started experimenting and have figured out a way to reduce the FM switching by about 90%! Not a perfect fix and clearly not the way it should be but at least I can use my iPod. This may work for you or it might not 1. Start on the 2nd song of the playlist. It sounds weird, but if I start on the 2nd song on playlists I have no issues with switching. The switching only happens on the 1st song. 2. Double Start Button. My car is a manual. After I turn of the car, I hit the Start / Stop button a second time without pushing in the clutch and it shuts down the stereo / iDrive. When I do this the car will restart later with the iPod selected and playing vs switching to FM. Not sure if this can work for cars with auto transmissions. With these two tips I have almost hassle free iPod use.
