Welcome Lighting
Does anyone have this feature? Not to be confused with pathway lighting. Basically you leave your head light switch in either adaptive headlight or non-adaptive mode after you turn off the the car and lock it. When unlocking the car the park lights, interior lights, and door handle lights should all light up. In my case the interior and door handle lights light up. Please refer to page 98 of the owners manual under "Welcome Lamps". I do understand the manual indicates that not all models have certain features...these are indicated by an astrick. This particular feature does not have the astrick. I have a 335i sedan. I must say I saw this feature on a coupe...you unlock the the car and the above light sequence happens including the halo lights "fade to the on postition"...That was sweet. On my nav screen for lights there is a option for welcome light but there is no block to check or uncheck. My navi has been updated. Before there was no option at all for "Welcome Light". After the update it showed up...but as I mentioned before there is no block to check. I wonder if this feature is exculsive to the coupes Help me out.

Not sure exactly what youre asking because you keep referring the manual and then the coupe.
Regardless, when I unlock my sedan, the door handles light up and my halo lights come on. When Im leaving my car I pull the turn stalk and the DRL's stay on for whatever time I specified in the programming.

Read Your eFfing Owner's Manual.
When I unlock my car, the interior lights, door handles, and angel eyes come on. I don't have nav. and just figured all E9xs had this feature.

If you want your corona and other lights to come on when you unlock the car, make sure you leave your light switch on the Auto position. I also have the sedan and that's how it works. Cool, indeed.

Please guys, don't mislead the guy. Not all cars, including mine, have the angel eyes feature when unlocking the car.
There was a certain build date range where that feature got discontinued. While my car was in the shop for a fuel pump, i had asked them to enable the angel eyes feature and they said it was not possible. 2007.5 don't have this feature. The only things that light up are the door handles LEDs and the interior dome lights.

End of June production and I have that feature. I didn't even know the angel eyes came on when unlocking until I saw car's reflection in a store window. I think I should add that I have Comfort Access and Premium package, if that matters. Headlight switch is in "Auto" position and DRLs are off. Last edited by fer360; 09-05-2007 at 09:11 PM..
