In the market for a second car. Chime in please.
Hey all. I tried looking around but maybe I missed some of the FAQ threads?
I've recently gotten a better job and am now in a financial situation where I can finally buy a 2nd car. A garage queen, who maybe only sees the road on Sat/Sun. After extensive research I've settled on either a 06+ Honda S2000, or a E92 328i 6 M/T. I've driven an automatic 6th generation Honda Accord since I was 16, and I want to get something newer, RWD, with a manual transmission. I do, however plan to keep the Accord. As a DD. It has never failed me before & I love that car. I plan to buy in July or August, after the market cools down a bit due to all these people buying cars with tax return money. I always loved the S2000 and when my buddy took me for a ride in his, I loved it. It felt like I was riding in a go kart. Though I have heard extremely good things about the E9x 328i. Apparently BMW's "Bread & Butter". Growing up my dad had a silver E30, then a white E36 when I was 7 or 8. I don't remember them much but he sure loved them. Every time I see a E92 Sport Package I melt.. The car is too beautiful for words. Sorry for the essay, I'll get to the point. I'll want to spend roughly $22k. I plan to keep the car for the remainder of my schooling. So 4-5 years. Considering that I won't be driving it too much, I don't plan on putting much more than 25k miles on the car the entire time I have it. How much mileage is 'too much' mileage? Any specific things I should watch out for? & Above all, (well, if you want). If you were to want to convince me to get the E92 as opposed to the S2000, what would be your reasoning. Listen, I know I'm not exactly comparing apples to apples here but these are honestly the only 2 cars I desire. Thanks for your time. -Bryan |

Between this two cars I'd go with the s2000. Especially for a weekend vehicle. A 328i is a daily driver and every 3 cars in my town is a 328i. No offense but I'd laugh if someone told me a 328 was their weekend car. A s2000 on the other hand comes in some eye popping colors and has tons of mods you can do over time. I think you'd enjoy the drivability of the the s2000 with the high rev range ect..
