POWER MOds
HI guys im thinking about geting xede from Activeautowerks, if any of you has it instaled on car please met me know what you think about it and how much HP did you gain?.Also I red july 2007 "eurotuner" page 24,samir from
"technik enginering" is talking about getting GRUPPE M intake, sebring cat back exhaust and HALTECH management computer and they got 415HP/490lbft. I know that exhaust gave them maybe 20HP lets say intake gave them another 20HP "tops", so it looks like they got about 375HP from the Haltech mng comp and those are dyno figures so engine probably had 450+HP Please let me know if you had any expiriences with haltech and if so witch unit it was ,etc thank you Lucjan |

Sorry about going off topic luckyD. I honestly don't know anything about the Haltech units or the AA Xede, other wise I would help you out.

Around here generally speaking:
Haltech=PROcede, by far the market leader. Look for V2 threads, they will be hard to miss and promise some cool upgrades on current platform. Currently hold the record for fastest Trap and quickest ET. Also the most expensive option. Xede=Mostly Active Autoworks but also less popular RDSport Black box. Both are long time well established BMW tuners and offer full service with lots of goodies beyond the piggyback units. Eurobahn/Split Second Turbo Tuner: Not a true piggyback but extremely user friendly plug and play unit that offers safe and significant power and torque gains with a lower price than the above and the easiest install uninstall procedure adding to it's popularity. JuiceBox: Offers both a stage I and Stage II unit, each priced well below anything from the competition. My current favorite tuner simply because the performance per dollar is unmatched and the JBs2 has put down ET's and Traps in line with the most expensive units listed above at a fraction of the price. Company run by an apparently brilliant but somewhat renegade ex-forum member (see sticky threads) who is hated by a few but respected by at least as many. There are others available and many in the R&D stage (and no I dont mean rip-off and duplicate) but the above is a brief overview of the electronic boost mods you are most likely to see promoted and discussed on this forum. |

I used to think that he knew about tuning, until I read this statement that he recently made... and whats interesting is that shiv has said that v2, which makes the "30rwhp on top" of 1.47, only runs at 12psi... now how is that possible if shiv is just "adding more boost" Quote:

Thank you guys especially radgator ,and thank you for sticking up for new guyss jerseyS =), and i want to let you know guys that i spoke with Samir from "technik eng" and he told me that Haltech mng is avalible thru them but they only do it in house so if your from CA , you can drive there and they will do it, becouse they custom tune every car. Do you guys now about any professional tuning shop in tri state area? (ny,nj.ct)
and this is article from export magazine about Haltech in BMW 335i Haltech revs up exports with EFIC finance Engine management company, Haltech, is using the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation’s Headway product to win the export race. By Simon Sharwood. When a BMW 335i twin-turbo racing car swept over the finishing line to win the gruelling Bathurst 12-hour endurance motor race in April 2007, Mark Bevan, the Managing Director of Haltech Engine Management Systems, and his colleagues shared the victor’s achievement. Bevan and his team were excited because the car in question was fitted with an advanced Haltech computerised engine control unit that had ‘maxed’ the BMW’s power, fuel efficiency and reliability to ‘conquer the mountain’ in one of the world’s toughest road races. Haltech’s products have their roots in the 1986 when Steve Mitchell, then a recently graduated electrical engineer, went to work with his father Bill on the development of diagnostic equipment for fuel injection systems. But in the company’s early days, the chance request from a motoring magazine to solve a fuel supply system for a high performance ‘street machine’ led to much bigger things. Steve responded to the magazine article by designing a world-first computer-based engine management system that could be programmed and fine-tuned on screen in real time while the engine was running. Systems of this type became commonplace and Haltech enjoyed export success from its earliest days. But by the time the company’s current owners acquired the business in 2003, its competitors had caught up with their technology. Some serious research and development was in order to again give Haltech the winning edge and take advantage of considerable offshore opportunities for its products in markets like Japan and Europe where performance-enhancing technologies are widely adopted. |

Interesting article. Shiv from Vishnutuning.com prepared the tune for those Bathurst BMWs (Haltech from what I understand had nothing to do it with, perhaps other than providing the device). This device as sold by Vishnu is called the Procede and sold by Vishnu here in the states. I guess you could purchase the Haltech device from that company in CA and get a tune at their shop; however, Shiv and Vishnu have come out with a V2 of that device which Haltech likely has no involvement in and the V2 product will be even more adaptable and powerful.
