Hey guys

I've been struggling to rectify this issue for last year or so. My summer setup is 225/40/18 & 255/35/18 and for Winter I'm running 205/45/17 square. Throughout winter I NEVER experienced any steering vibration but as soon as I put my summer setup and hit anything beyond 120kph, the vibration kicks back. I've tried a bunch of shops for balancing with no resolution. I even dropped off the wheels at a local BMW dealership for balancing and issue still exists.
The vibration gets much aggressive when I drop the top. Its so frustrating. Reading bunch of threads here I saw most people recommending road force balancing. Doesn't the dealership have that by default?
Is there anything else I can do? Thanks for any help in advance !

Yes, the dealership more than likely road force balances by default, but the threshold for a "bad" tire is way past perceptible levels of vibration. For instance, the machine will let you know at 19lbs of road force that the tire is bad. I've found that anything past 9lbs of road force results in vibration.

I'd find out what those numbers actually are for each wheel/tire assembly and then go from there with regards to ruling out a bad wheel or tire.

OP - The dealer should have a Road Force balancer, but that doesn't mean that they Road Forced your wheels. You can still balance the tires on the wheels without Road Forcing them, and there is a point that they have set where anything under that they will likely not Road Force. IE: If they set the threshold for 25 pounds, anything under that will likely not be Road Forced. If they notice that it's above that, they will Road Force them.
