I posted this in the N54 forum, but I'm not sure if there would be more interest here.

I work with a startup located here in Southern California called Thorough Concepts, and we are trying to gauge interest in the community for aftermarket driveshafts for BMWs.

Michael Essa just installed a Thorough Concepts Aluminum 1-piece driveshaft on his FormulaD E46 that he's building for the 2013 season, and we would like to know if the E90 community would be interested in such a product.

We offer steel and aluminum 1-piece driveshafts. Our steel driveshaft would be about 4-5 lbs lighter than stock and cost ~$300-350, while our aluminum driveshaft would be about 9 lbs lighter and cost ~$400-450. As these driveshafts are able to hold up for FormulaD, they are very strong and would not need to be replaced unless damaged in an accident.

I'd be interested. Carbon Fiber would be best, but al is already a nice improvement. Up to what torque are the driveshafts rated? Our cars put out alot of torque at low rpms. I guess that would put alot of stress on the driveshaft?

Btw why did you chose a 1-piece design over the oem 2-piece?
