Prevent wheel damage?
How do u guys prevent wheel damage when getting new tires? I got a flat fixed a few months ago and one of the best wheel shops here in Atlanta still scratched my wheel. I don't have nothing fancy, just the stock 19" type 230s. I need new tires but am apprehensive of getting them mounted. Have any of you guys tried taping the wheels before getting new tires mounted? Need some advice before trusting anyone with my wheels.

You can try asking your tire shop to see if they can mount the tire from the inner barrel. I doubt the tape method will work because the tire can possibly ripped it right off.

It seems to be hit or miss. I always had good luck at Discount Tires when I lived in GA. I can also suggest going to a tuner shop (Topspeed or any of the other Atlanta based tuners). They generally have better equipment and more experience with low profile tires. If you just go to a Sears o rNTB or whatever you are basically playing the lottery.

You just have to shop around and find shops in your area that have a good reputation for keeping customer's wheels intact.
This will depend on whether the wheel is front mount or reverse mount.

I've been debating the powder coat vs paint for my wheels and one other reason paint could be better for touch-ups

Powder coating will be very durable and hold up well over time. If you are looking to touch up powder coating, you can't add more powder coat, but you can always have someone mix up some paint to cover up blemished areas. It's not going to be exactly the same coating but it should help out.
