Steering issues after coilover install. HELp!

I installed KW V2's and M3 front control arms on my 07 e92 335i this past weekend and now I'm experiencing some strange steering issues. When I turn the wheel it doesn't come back to center by itself, it just stays turned. Any ideas what could cause this? Would an alignment cure this? I plan to get an alignment but want the install to be correct before doing so.

you need an alignment after installing coilovers.

sounds like the washers above and/or below the upper spring plate weren't installed correctly (the V2's use the factory spring plate and guide support, correct?).

if they are not put in the right way, the parts bind, and will cause sticking or noise when turning the wheel

You can get away without an alignment after coilovers but I believe its a must after M3 controls arms since they are slightly longer than stock. Should handle real nice after an alignment!

installing coilovers alone you need to get alignment after a couple weeks of letting it settle in. after m3 arms you NEED to get alignment ASAP. many people have noted the steering feeling very off until a proper alignment is done. get one as soon as you can and report back.

That's your toe being off after installing the control arms. Get an alignment.

It will dude. I recently installed full M3 bits and immediately afterwards felt exactly what you did. Put the car back on the lift to bring the toe as close to normal which helped a lot and then drove it straight to get an alignment.

Zero issues after that.

Phew, alignment was the cure. Toe was over an inch out of spec! Handles beautifully now.
