i dont think anything is wrong with the ipod...it works fine with ihome speakers, earphones, and regular aux cable...i think the problem is that it stays on while the car is off causing it to die...anyone else experiencing anything like this??

Not really. I treat my nano like I did the CD changer cartridge in my old car; I leave it in the car until I get sick of what's on it, then bring it in and swap stuff around. It spends 80% of its life plugged into the car, and most of the remainder in the dock. I don't think I've ever seen the battery at less than 100% when I take it out of the car, so I'm reasonably certain that it doesn't drain when the car's off.

Yes, "hold" is usually on... maybe yours isn't turning off because stuff's touching the click-wheel?
edit for another thought: if your ipod is "dying" after it starts playing it's not a battery issue; the damn thing charges from the car. Once it's got a high enough float voltage to power up then it should be golden for as long as power's applied even if the battery *is* completely shot. Can you charge it at home over USB or with a plug-in charger? It's *conceivable* that there's something wrong with your 6FL and the jack isn't sourcing power appropriately. Do you have any other USB devices you could try? |

does it say 'low battery' when it does it. Mine was doing this when I first got the e90. Try taking it out and giving it a full charge overnight on another device, this seemed to solve my issue, nothing was wrong with the Ipod. It does trickle charge while the car is off, however if it is in a really low state the battery doesn't really respond properly...
